Advanced Concepts in Ruby on Rails Hosting

I’ve recently been looking into Starfish to provide more speed for our upcoming email alert functionality. While reading Lucas’ blog I noticed that he’s back blogging about their experiences at MOG. This time he’s writing a series about Rails deployment which seems really interesting. Three parts so far, more to come:

Hosting seems to be a persistent issue for rails developers. Any comment on recommended ruby hosting yourself?

What he doesn’t say over there on that blog is that drproxy was a disaster when initially deployed at MOG (due to a lack of testing, and thus some very bad bugs), which resulted in a week of downtime for portions of the system.

Those articles really don’t talk about any concrete advanced rails hosting concepts at all.
